’re terrible, for not listening to you, obeying you, …ck, brown, red, blue, whatever person — is not to absolve your white guilt. That is what racism is. You are imagining that you are, deep down, smarter, wiser, kinder, more knowledgeable, more compassionate, better…than the rest of us. That is why, instead of sitting down, for even a moment, shutting up, and listening for once, you have to teach us, tell us, educate us, save us — and pout, lash out, and erupt if you can’t. We’re stupid, we’re dumb, we’re terrible, for not listening to you, obeying you, supplicating to you.
